The People

DB Quarter Horses is a small family operated breeding farm.
Doreen Boschman, who owns and operates the farm, has been a horse fanatic since early in life.
As a child she had her first pony at the age of 7. For the following 10 years she spent every free minute trail riding and starting colts.
When, in 1998 she saw reining for the first time, she was completely hooked. Both the Quarter Horse and the reining sport attracted her. The same year she owned her first Quarter Horse.

In 2001 she graduated as a farrier. Unfortunately circumstances kept her from riding for several years.
During that period she discovered the joy of breeding and raising Quarter Horses.
She started breeding allround Quarter horses, the last decade she focusses on reiners.
A few yeras ago she picked up riding again and has become a true reining addict. She is passionate about breeding outstanding athletes.
Mare and early foal care, office management, daily care etc. are generally performed by Doreen.
For pasture maintenance, fence building, weed control, etc. she is fortunate to have her father helping her out.
Alfons is an invaluable part of the work that goes on behind the scenes at DB Quarter Horses.
Thanks to the support from her family, she has the opportunity to combine breeding and riding with household and family.

The Facility

Since 2001 the small farm is located in Belgium, nearby Aalst, on the banks of the river Dender.
DB Quarter Horses is easily accessible and just 10 minutes from highway E40 at exit 19, Aalst.
In this city, between Brussels and Ghent agriculture goes hand in hand with commercial and financial activities.
The pastures, on former hop-growing areas, are located on the gently sloping landscape in the alluvial valley of the Dender.

The facilities include:

    - round pen

    - 6 acres pastures with shelter
